St. Anthony's 35-game winning streak ended with a resounding thud on Friday night, as the Friars lost 69-40 to Bishop O'Dowd (Oakland, Calif.) at the MaxPreps Holiday Classic in San Diego.

HARRISON - It all seemed to be slipping away from the McNair girls basketball team. A 13-point fourth quarter lead over Hoboken had vanished into a one-point deficit and top player Cathylee Philippe had fouled out. But, the Cougars showed their resolve, combined with good foul shooting, to outlast the Red Wings, 36-33, in the opening round of the Harrison Blue Tide Yule Tide tournament yesterday.

HARRISON - Coming into this season one of the first goals Harrison boys basketball coach Nick Landy wanted his team to accomplish was to win the Harrison Blue Tide Yule Tide Tournament, a tournament that according to Landy is in its 34th year.

HARRISON - With a roster comprised almost entirely of girls playing on the varsity level for the first time, the early season has been a learning experience for Harrison. Yesterday was no exception as the Blue Tide was unable to contain the Bogota offense in a 71-40 defeat in the opening round of the Harrison Blue Tide Yule Tide tournament.
